Leah + Taylor / Ponce City Market & Jackson Street Bridge Engagement Portraits

During a shoot, sometimes photos is the least of our worries… One of the things that can be a challenge for us is the fact that we sometimes have never met our couple in person which means, we don’t know their personality, we don’t know what they’re going to look like, we don’t know how much they want or don’t want to be there, we don’t know what they really think of us, we don’t know if they’re in a good mood or if they had an argument on the way to the shoot.  Within a few seconds, we have observe so much to get a sense of how we should approach our couple to give them a good experience.  We have to know personalities really well and we have done a few studies on that for this reason.  Personality is actually very fascinating, so you haven’t done one, we HIGHLY recommend it. (Our favorite is “I said this, you heard that”.) We have to know that some people really are feeling awkward and uncomfortable, that some couples are not as outgoing or talkative, that some want to talk a lot and shoot every pose possible.  There are many personalities and temperaments that we have to deal with and learning how to respect each one has become a big part of our job.  All that to say… this part was so easy for us with Leah + Taylor.  First of all, we got to know them and their family through Leah’s sisters’ weddings before.  But, it was still our first time spending time just with them, so the dynamic was expected to be different.  Wow, as soon as we saw them at Ponce City Market, we felt like we were just having a family reunion!  They were so sweet, so approachable and so easy to talk to.  Within seconds, I just had this peace in my heart that this shoot was going to be one of our favorites!  And, it definitely turned out that way.  Loved how giggly they were and just laughed at all the goofy jokes Craig made even when they thought they weren’t funny. hehe I absolutely enjoyed getting to know them more on what they do and just connecting with them that way.  I got to really see how much they adored one another and the genuine love that they have made me look forward to their wedding in 2022 even more.  And then on top of all these qualities, they are HAWT too!  I mean c’mon… they say that perfection doesn’t exist, but they sure do come pretty close it then!  We had zero worry about what they were going to wear because this is one fashionista couple and they did not disappoint whatsoever.  We loved their outfits so much… so much to the point that I almost asked Leah if I could borrow her dress.  But, who am I kidding?  I don’t think my neck would’ve even fit into it.  LOL! Oh Leah + Taylor!  Words can’t describe how much fun we had with you guys!  Thank you for being so prompt, being the best models and giving us the best 3 hours!! You guys are gorgeous and your hearts are beautiful.  You make our world amazing and for that, we are grateful!  We hope that these photos will always allow you to reminisce on this special time of your lives.  We look forward to seeing you again next summer to celebrate your BIG day!  Until then… take care!

With much love,

Craig + Unchong
