Jasmine + Aiden / Estate at Independence Virginia Wedding

Where do I even begin with this blog post…? Do I begin by telling you guys how long we’ve known our bride? Or, by telling you how stunning our bride looked on her wedding day? Or, how impressed I was on how our couple handled the fact that it just down poured right when their ceremony was about to start and stopped right after? There are just so many stories that I need to organize in my head in order to write this post, but at the same time, I realize that it’s ok if it’s all over the place because sometimes, that’s just life! So yeah… we shared before how honored we were to have our bride ask us to photograph her wedding because we’ve known her since she was our daughter’s age, so I think 14? Can you believe that?? Gosh, how old are we for real?? LOL! We just can’t say it enough how much that meant to us, and we are so thankful that everything worked out. We flew out to Virginia to spend the day capturing Jasmine + Aiden’s wedding, and we were truly so excited. We got there with no problems, and the day was going flawlessly. EVERYONE at their wedding was ON TIME, and if you are a wedding photographer, you know how important that is. All the ladies and gentlemen were just so chill…. no one seemed stressed out… there was this sense of peace because yes, the presence of JESUS was just there! Thank you, Lord! Jasmine has always been very pretty, but wow! She was literally glowing on her big day. Aiden was one dapper groom and let me tell you… he has the best still face and is so easy to photograph! Together, they were just perfect. Their smiles were the most genuine, happy smiles I’ve ever seen. And gosh, I just love the way they look at each other! When your love for one another is that BIG and you believe in one BIG God who dearly loves you, nothing can get in the way of that. Nope, not even when it rains cats and dogs on your wedding day. Let me tell you… I know that feeling because it rained cats and dogs ALL DAY for Craig and I. Yup… we couldn’t get one picture outside. Not even one! That’s how much it rained. I’m surprised our wedding didn’t get canceled! So, when it rains on a wedding day for our couples, we can totally relate emotionally. On Jasmine + Aiden’s wedding day, it rained just when the ceremony was about to begin. I mean, what timing! But for some reason, God wanted this to be part of their story and we have to just trust in that. Their ceremony was planned outside and we were all set to receive the guests. The DJ was all set, the flowers, the chairs, we were ready and so was the videographer. Then, BOOM! We all literally ran inside. I’ve never been so impressed with a staff like this one. They flipped the cocktail hour area into a ceremony space SO FAST! WOW! EVERY single staff member helped, and it was done excellently and FAST! Some got totally soaked! Even in the midst of this happening, the ceremony was delayed only about 15min. We caught up with that time quickly and can you believe that the rain stopped when the ceremony ended? But, you know what? It was the most beautiful ceremony… the bride and the groom exchanged the most beautiful vows I’ve ever heard, and I’m seriously just not saying that. I cried so much! AH! I KNOW… I wiped my tears away as fast as I could in order to keep shooting. LOL! I tried to hold it in, but once one tear fell, it was over. Sometimes, God has even better plans for us, and I love how our couple handled the ceremony changes so gracefully. They made THE BEST out of it, and yes, it was truly the best. Thank God we were able to go outside and take all the portraits afterwards tho! How awesome was that?! We had such a great time, and we have hundreds of pictures to prove it. Jasmine + Aiden, thank you… thank you for giving us this honor. Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for reminding us how precious love is between a husband and a wife. Thank you for being such an example of grace. We only wish you the best and we pray that God continues to bless you and your sweet family. May your love for one another only grow from here.

With much love,

Craig + Unchong
