This summer has been like no other… Our oldest is going to middle school in the fall, so it’s been quite a milestone for us as a family. She graduated elementary school, and I know it’s probably not a big deal for parents who have older parents, but we still can’t believe it.
There are many aspects to a wedding day, and we all know that every detail is important. It’s no wonder that some people choose to elope to make things easier. But, as great as eloping may sound, I know for me and all of our brides, we all want the wedding day that we dreamed of. I had mine 13 years ago (Wow!), and I wouldn’t change a thing. In fact, I would love to have another one. ;) hehe
You're engaged. AWESOME! Now what? Wedding planning! How do you do that, you ask? Where do you start? There are books after books and blogs after blogs on how to do this correctly. We've been there... we know!
As photographers, it's the most heart breaking thing when photos just stay in hard drives. Photographs are meant to become art in your home! One of my favorite thing to do is help our clients design the empty walls of their home and make it come alive! Seeing our clients' expressions when they receive canvases, prints or albums is absolutely priceless! Your photographs are one of a kind, unique art that you should show off!
How many of you have a room in your home that you don't really use? For us, it was our dining room... We put dining furniture there because that's just what you do. For many years, I looked into that room and wondered why we even have it when for us, all we did was eat there once a year on Thanksgiving Day. Since last year, God has been stirring in me a need to pray more and to create a space for this purpose in our home.
"One day, if I ever make this much money, then I will give it to such and such...." was a thought we used to have. But, we realized that giving doesn't happen under certain circumstances, it happens when you decide to. With money, no matter where you're at, it's never enough because contentment comes from a sense of gratitude... in fact, they say, "More money, more problems", and that is so true.
I was born in South Korea and grew up there until I was eight years old. Even as a child, I was fascinated with foreigners. It was rare that I saw an American person, but when I did, I thought it was the coolest thing. Through my dad (step-dad who was the only father I ever knew and called, "Dad") who was stationed in South Korea, I got to see so many Americans at the military base.
Online, it may seem that our business is everything to us. It may seem that all we do is go to photo shoots everyday and that all we talk about are weddings and photography. Yes, we of course love it and it's our passion to be in love with photography and our clients; however, there's something else that we love more and that's each other. Without our marriage, none of what we do would even matter and it wouldn't exist.
